I’m Erika Beck. 

Hi and Welcome to my website about Overlockers and Sergers!

I grew up in a large family – 6 brothers and sisters…. and I was right in the middle!

Whilst we didn’t want – for much – clothing for such a large tribe placed quite a strain on the modest family budget!

Mom was a whiz when it came to making practical and functional clothing and soft furnishings using her sewing and serger machines. Initially, this knowledge was ‘passed on’ with me bucking and screaming – well, protesting loudly anyways!

As my skills and confidence grew, a Creative side began to emerge.

I began to emulate fashionable clothing designs using these acquired sewing skills. Firstly for my neighbor, Matt. Then for designs that had caught my eye! This led to putting my overlocker and sewing skills to work doing a few items for friends – who asked me nicely 🙂 

I Bought my first Serger ….

I purchased my first sewing machine and overlocker and soon was sewing soft furnishings for a local business. This led to opening a retail business. I was like a pig in mud – surrounded by all types of fabric from curtaining to soft furnishing to patchwork to upholstery. Added to this, multiple sewing machine and overlocker serger machine dealerships – ahhh heaven!

Experience…..

I don’t profess to know it all, but ‘i will blow my own trumpet just a little. I do have much knowledge and importantly, experience in this arena and my goal is to share it with you on this website!

Moving into your sewing Future ….
